Spaces

Area 302 hosts different types of spaces designed to accommodate cultural activities, moments of encounter, and shared work. In addition to warehouses and showrooms, the building includes the large Sala Mammut, dedicated to practices, events, and workshops, a Coworking Area, on the first floor, several Social Areas, and a Dialogue Space intended for more intimate conversations and exchanges.

Mammut

The Sala Mammut stands out as a very generous room of almost 200 square meters, full height, a true space of manifestation that allows one to extend one’s degrees of perceptual freedom. What may be surprising, upon entering the Mammoth Room, is that despite its considerable volume, its extension does not lead to dispersion, but to its opposite, with a soft and crystalline quality. Inside, one feels contained and protected, as in a large space vessel plying the Cosmos, as well as comfortably welcomed, thanks to the presence of the large curtains, the fine oak parquet flooring, the night sky-like ceiling, and the very orientation of the room to the south, with its large window that collects the sun’s rays and keeps this place in constant visual communication with the grassy area outside.

Dialogue

There are two main entrances to Area 302. The first provides direct access to the Sala Mammut, preceded by two anterooms and changing rooms, and includes a welcoming Dialogue Space furnished with comfortable sofas and equipped with sound-absorbing panels. This is the entrance used for cultural activities: practices, courses, events, and workshops. The second entrance leads to a spacious anteroom of over 30 square meters, where Guests heading to the Coworking Area can leave coats and shoes. From here, one enters a large Social Area designed for relaxation and sharing, furnished with a sofa, armchairs, and poufs. This space serves as a connective environment between the Sala Mammut and the Coworking Area.

Coworking

The Coworking Area is located on the first floor. Its central space hosts a second Social Area of more than 20 square meters, next to which there is a 25-square-meter meeting room featuring a 3.6-meter-long table, whiteboards, and a 65-inch television for presentations. In addition to the spaces permanently used by the administrators of Area 302 and Social Business Earth, there are two interconnecting offices and an additional single office available. The rooms are spacious and bright, equipped with state-of-the-art LED lighting, internet connection and Wi-Fi, underfloor fan coil units for winter heating and summer cooling, wall-mounted sound-absorbing panels, and roller blinds.

One distinctive feature of Area 302 is that all its spaces (including offices) are no-shoes: outdoor footwear is not permitted inside. Guests are instead free to move through the different environments wearing indoor shoes, socks, or, if they wish, barefoot. This choice reflects the desire to preserve the quality and care of the spaces, while also encouraging a simpler and more mindful way of inhabiting the place. Walking without shoes allows one to rediscover the pleasure of direct contact with the ground, a natural way to slow down, become more aware of the body, and regain a sense of presence, lightness, and familiarity that accompanies everyday life within Area 302.

Guests may also access the refined green area to the east, called the “Connettarium,” sheltered by evergreen conifers and distinguished by a striking circle of Ginkgo biloba trunks, at the center of which stands a Morus alba Platanifolia.
